Last Thursday March 15, I was able to have an opportunity to share my knowledge about Alexa at Far Eastern University (FEU) Makati. I discussed trends about Voice apps, what is Alexa Skills, utterance, intent and available devices, writing Hello World using AWS Lambda and HTTP endpoint via EC2, Route53 and certbot (SSL) and many more. It was a great day!
I started greeting them saying good afternoon then they replied soft. I guess they are sleepy since the talk started at 1:30PM. So I asked them to standup and ask Alexa to play a wake up song..P P A P…and they dance LOL :).
Most of the time an event organizer introduce the speaker, but I just use my Alexa to introduce me hahaha 🙂
Here are some highlights of the event.
One of the best part is when I showed them how to personalize or customize Alexa using SSML. I asked Alexa advice about girls. It played “Hayaan Mo Sila – Ex Battalion” (which is a youtube sensation here at PH) all students laugh and sing! :).
This is not my first time I talked to F.E.U. (F.E.U. Manila I shared a PHP programming language talk on there web dev summit and on F.E.U. Makati I shared my hackathon experience). Thank You F.E.U. Makati!
