Happy Easter everyone! I’m happy to share that I passed AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty (https://www.credly.com/badges/2dd964d5-912d-4be1-82c3-0a169eda8607) last Black Saturday. I was surprised the Pearson Vue online exam is available this holiday. Anyways, today I’ll be sharing my thoughts and experience on the said exam certification.
I suggest before taking this exam that you have at least any of the associate certifications. I’m coming from passing AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty a month ago and some questions appeared in the AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty exam. So if your taking this exam better get as well AWS Certified Data Analytics. I already took 11 AWS exam certifications but this AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty is different as it will not only test you on AWS services but as well as Machine Learning concepts i.e. Confusion Matrix, different algorithms/models, and when it to use, feature engineering, literal computation like precision vs. recall vs. accuracy vs. F1 score, graphs and charts for ML evaluation, hyperparameters, etc. 70% concepts and 30% AWS Services.
The videos, books, and tools I used for studying are as follows:

- Udemy AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialty MLS-C01 [2023] by Chandra Lingam. I think this one is the best Udemy tutorial for Machin Learning.
- Udemy AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialty 2023 – Hands On! by Sundog Education. Optional, I prefer the latter one.

- AWS Documentation and FAQ. Sagemaker, Amazon Comprehend, Amazon Elastic Inference, Amazon Forecast, Amazon Kendra, Amazon Lex, Amazon Lookout for Equipment, Amazon Lookout for Metrics, Amazon Lookout for Vision, AWS Panorama, Amazon Personalize, Amazon Polly, Amazon Rekognition, Amazon Textract, Amazon Translate, Amazon Transcribe, S3, KMS, Amazon Redshift, and Lambda.
- AWS Whitepapers.
- AWS Console. I suggest not only trying Sagemaker but try as well high-level Machine Learning services like Amazon Comprehend, Amazon Elastic Inference, Amazon Forecast, Amazon Kendra, Amazon Lex, Amazon Lookout for Equipment, Amazon Lookout for Metrics, Amazon Lookout for Vision, AWS Panorama, Amazon Personalize, Amazon Polly, Amazon Rekognition, Amazon Textract, Amazon Translate, and Amazon Transcribe. Some API names appeared on the exam. Almost all of the high-level Machine Learning I already used it on hackathons and in my work. Building Alexa Skills help me also.
The exam cost me $150 as I have a 50% off from my last exam. Again, on taking this exam make sure you are familiar with Machine Learning concepts and AWS Machine Learning services.
I’m just one step away from finishing my AWS Cloud Marathon (12/13) journey. Hopefully, I can finish it all this year. I like to thank my wife “A” and my kids Zeev and Amahri. Good luck to those who will take the exam and see you around 🙂
